Meet The Administration Team

Mrs Rebecca Hanbury

I was born and have lived in Shropshire all my life. I moved to the village of Newtown in 1992 and worked in Shrewsbury for many years, before taking some time out to raise a family. I first became involved with the school when my two children attended the Nursery here.  I was an active member of the Friends of Newtown and was on the committee of the Newtown Community & Recreation Association for 17 years.  

I started working at the school in 2006. It has been a joy to work in such a lovely caring school, meeting so many children and parents along the way. 

In my spare time I enjoy gardening and equestrian sports.  I also enjoy cycling around the local lanes and visiting places of historical interest. 

Mrs Julie Hordern 

I have a number of roles across the Newhampton Federation - Office Manager, Pastoral Lead and Breakfast Club lead. Having worked for many years at Newtown, I am now based largely at Welshampton but lead Breakfast Club every day at Newtown and spend Wednesday in the Newtown office.

I really enjoy working with all of our children and parents and supporting them with the endless amounts of administration which goes on behind the scenes in addition to being able to emotionally support children and families who have concerns or worries.

I have cherished all the magical moments with the children; from when they read their first words and the excitement and pride they have in themselves, to supporting them on their learning journey towards secondary school. My philosophy is to always think about the effect you have on those around you; children need positivity, laughter, kindness and love and I make it my aim to provide these every day.

When I am not working the three jobs I currently have, I like to immerse myself in a good book and I love swimming and playing badminton.
