Meet The Headteacher

Mr Crompton

Brought up in rural Shropshire, returning to the county to lead Newtown Church of England Primary School in September 2021 was a real privilege.

Following university, I worked at Sky Sports Television in London as an Assistant Producer before embarking on a career in primary education in search of a more fulfilling career; I wanted to ‘make a difference’. The change in career started in Cheshire as a teaching assistant before qualifying as a teacher. I then progressed to become the deputy headteacher of a rural school in Cheshire and was thrilled to be given the opportunity to lead two schools within the Newhampton Federation two years ago.

Outside of school, my family is very special to me. I thoroughly enjoy spending time with my wife, two young daughters and Oscar our dog. We spend lots of time in the outdoors being as active as we can; paddleboarding, walking and visiting places of interest. We also love to visit Cornwall where I can be spotted falling off my surfboard! My – not so secret - passion in life is football which I play regularly and support Stoke City FC who I ‘enjoy’ watching as much as possible.

OUR VISION

'Let your light shine' encapsulates the school's commitment to provide an enriching education which is deep and broad.
